March Founder's Corner Blog

First, I must give thanks to the Higher Being that leads and guides my footsteps. With him, all things are possible. This month, Sister-to-Sister: International Network of Professional African American Women, Inc. (“Sister-to-Sister, Inc.”) will publish two newsletter editions. Our first edition has traditional content (i.e., events, educational materials, accolades, etc.). We will dedicate our next edition to Sister-to-Sister, Inc.’s Towards Health Equity: Saving Lives of Black Mothers & Infants Initiative. To ‘wet your whistle’, our February 25, 2023, inaugural Towards Health Equity educational fundraising gala, featuring Ms. Dayna Bowen Matthew, J.D., Ph.D., Dean of The George Washington School of Law, was a resounding success with over 200 guests in attendance. Successfully hosting our first major educational fundraising effort would have been merely a dream without the help of many, including our Platinum Sponsors, The Argosy Foundation and The Colorado Health Foundation. Success would have eluded us were it not for support from other myriad and diverse organizations, external and internal leaders, and members of our Sister Circle, who, stepping up, gave of themselves, their time, and their talents. Proceeds will be used to support our health parity initiative, educational programming, student scholarships, and the advancement of our impact. In honor of Women's History Month, I am pleased to profile two inspiring mentors. You are now invited to sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in this publication. Learn, grow, and be inspired.
